Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour
Serves: 48 Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
- 1 (17.5oz) pkg sugar cookie mix
- 1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp peppermint or almond extract
- 12oz (1/2 pkg) vanilla flavored candy coating
- 6 drops green food color egg dye
- 2 drops yellow food color egg dye
- 4oz chocolate flavored candy coating
- 24 mini marshmallows, cut in half
- Toothpicks
How to Make:
- Have a grown-up help you use a hand mixer to beat the butter until it’s fluffy. Add the cookie mix, baking cocoa, egg, water and whichever extract you like best. Beat the mixture together until it forms a firm dough.
- Scoop the dough into 48 bolls, about on inch in diameter. Place 12 of them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use your thumb to push down the center of each ball.
- With help from a grown-up, bake the cookies at 350°F for 7-9 minutes, or until the edges ore set. Remove them from the oven and press the indentation deeper with a spoon. Repeat the baking process with the remaining 36 dough bolls.
- Meanwhile, with help from a grown-up, chop the chocolate and microwave for 30 seconds, then stir, and continue microwaving 15 seconds at a time until it’s fully melted. Use a toothpick to dip each marshmallow half in the chocolate coating, and place on parchment paper to set.
- With the help of a grown-up, chop up the vanilla coating and microwave on high for 30 seconds, or until it’s fully melted. Stir in the food coloring and mix it well.
- Fill the cookie wells with the green melted coating and place a chocolate marshmallow in the center of each one. Repeat this with all cookies and cool before serving. Now look at all the Toothless eyes staring back at you!
